What plants for a future, plants from our past - what a gift,
the perfect present for the planet to last
Don’t be downcast~ unmask and bask, take up the task
Cos all the wooded paths, valleys, and hills release history’s oppression, inherited grief but still you must rise strong, you must rise free, you must rise true, you must meet me
For I am the oxygen that refracts daylight hours
(I am) The kiss of death for carbon dioxide’s obnoxious wrath
The blood of sun and rainfall course thru my veins indeed; the seasons change,
all my leaves fall with grace and with Godspeed
The dried brown nut within my seed, which at your feet seems void of speech
But hold fast to the promise within these dry walls, a germ bursts forth and sprouts anew
A forest dreams of mass renewal - pinecone, olive stone, acorn, apple pip,
sycamore wing, beechnut, ash key, conker, gingko leaf
I’m living in a dreamtime far far ago; I feel sick, but lichen and moss still distill and clear the air for all (as yet)
Agree to take one more chance, take this hour alone to dance: human beings with your feet, arms and heart - refresh your senses, finish~ back to the start
Blue and green, red and brown, make the sign, call the sound ~
The promise was made, no more riddles to solve *
(‘Cos) the time has arrived, infuse your resolve, refuse your involvement
to the killing of your soul. And alight on the precipice ~ inferno blazing
and I remember you * in infant speak (reveal to me)
(Yes,) Reveal to me the mystery of wisdom speak
Let us retire to ascend once more - the outer quadrants wait and guard us o’er
Big honeybees searching for home. Flights of fancy envelope their throne
Propolis, royal jelly to Queen Bee …. from a handsome drone
Crumbling dust teeth and bone(s), fungi and bacteria zone on waste decomposing,
converting it to gold (that’s loam)
Pollen in their chaps render microcosmic GPS dance
Mighty hives crippled by ozone’s skewed overdrive *
For no more bees mean no more plants, and no more trees mean a change
in our blue seas
The soil’s fecundity alter’d, we gamble with a half-life barter, and all because we failed to consider
all the plants of our past ought to have increased * our plants for a future
Instead we’ve murdered inconceivably - not just human but elementally
Molecules manipulated, water airways corrupted by lazy allocating of waste
and ruptured the privilege of lineage, breathing life successively
from one neglected generation to the next deteriorating genesis
What confusion, what delusion and yet - what inspiration awaits pure action
shot from genus of genius of vision and goodness’s intention
The time is now, make no mistake, can’t we end the endless debate?
Let righteous actions overtake (maybe we’d erase future mistakes?)
Fire true, aim high - we were born to live and to gift life before we die; let’s try
and then let’s die right
All answers are already within our planet; we need not run from the need nor
the will to try it
every solution resides in our morphology; it’s not mythology;
what’s inside is outside, as above so (very) *? below!
Decipher this humanistic anomaly.
Cos it’s not an “eco-problem”; the problem’s not with ecology - it’s a problem
for the species of you and of me
A problem to ameliorate to set right, upgrade, recuperate,
double helix flux possibility to amend, cultivate; a condition to appreciate
(So..!) Commence and proceed personal responsibility before the pulse and beat influence would cease *! from this decree
Activate and resume individual stewardship to the furthest reach of this cue, echo,
this lead (*)
Begin and continue diacritic bond far far beyond the vibration of this song
(and I) Thank you for your spirit to participate
I can go to sleep
knowing there is love
and peace
being made
